Born and raised in Hong Kong, Opinder grew up in a home where the stock market wasn’t just background noise — it was dinner table conversation. Her parents believed that saving wisely and planning thoughtfully were cornerstones of a good life, lessons that shaped how she approaches both money and people.
After graduating from the University of Hong Kong, she moved to Los Angeles and began what has now become a 25+ year career in financial services. She holds her Series 7, 6, 63, 65, and state insurance licenses, and has built a reputation for helping clients translate complex financial goals into clear, achievable strategies.
Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Punjabi (and proficient in French), Opinder has always believed connection comes first. She sees financial advising as deeply personal, about understanding values, not just balance sheets.
Outside the office, Opinder’s proudest accomplishments call her “Mom.” Her son, Prab, works alongside her at RYSE Financial, helping modernize the firm’s vision, operations, and brand, in addition to his responsibilities as a financial advisor. Her daughter, a pediatrician in the greater Boston area, focuses on the intersection of healthcare and climate change — a mission that reflects the family’s shared belief in doing good and giving back.
When she’s not advising clients, you’ll find Opinder with her family — cooking, traveling, or catching a Lakers game. To her, family, integrity, and community aren’t just values, they’re the foundation of how she lives, works, and helps others build the lives they want.
